"One of the most appealing aspects of the program is its inclusion of members from all areas of the staff community - many fields of practice, staff from academic and administrative units and staff both represented and not represented in collective bargaining." - Provost Paul Courant

So, what exactly is VOICES?

VOICES of the Staff, also called VOICES, is a volunteer-based initiative that was launched in February 2005 to give staff, at all University campuses and the Health System, a stronger voice for developing and sharing ideas about the campus community topics that matter most to staff.

About 100 staff members from all areas of the University community were selected from staff nominations to become the initial VOICES team. A subset of that group has a direct dialog with the University’s executive officers and shares ideas regularly with President Mary Sue Coleman and Associate Vice President for Human Resources Laurita Thomas.
