VOICES Annual Meeting 2009:
Focus on Innovation & Creativity
True to its annual meeting theme “Creativity and Innovation in Tough Times,” the Voices of the Staff volunteers summarized ideas, proposals and projects developed in the past year — some of which already are implemented — via spirited live presentations that included songs and call-and-response group performances.
The meeting, presented Friday, May 15 at the Four Points Sheraton, welcomed new volunteers into the program and honored those who are completing their two-year commitments as they transition to the Voices alumni team. It also provides an ongoing forum for staff from all campuses to share ideas, dialogue with leadership, and establish a stronger and broader sense of community.
Highlights included a morning keynote presentation on creativity and innovation presented by Chief Health Officer Dr. Robert Winfield, "Good News" presentations by the six 2008-09 network teams — each of which focused on a topic identified as a high priority to staff — and an afternoon workshop on leading innovation presented by professor Jeff DeGraff of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

A special highlights of the meeting were the“Good News Presentations” to the group by each of the six Network Teams. The teams summarized their core areas of focus over the past year and the outcomes and learning that have emerged from their exploration of those topics.
