Everyone Helped VOICES Begin.
A kickoff event was hosted by
University Human Resources on February 9, 2005.
Participants were nominated for the launch
event, and those in attendance helped identify the issues that
hold the greatest interest among a broad spectrum of staff.
The 21 topics discussed were ranked by the participants.
The University's executive officers endorsed the formation of
network groups devoted to the top six ranked topics. These topics
are the focus areas of the VOICES program.
Speak for yourself…and for others.
The members of the VOICES network groups are selected from the overall pool of applicants to represent a microcosm
of the U-M staff community in terms of
work areas, gender, ethnicity and other demographics.
Staff members may nominate themselves to join
the VOICES team or may
be nominated by human resources professionals in units throughout
the University.
How can staff become part of the VOICES Network?
University staff with at least one year of service
can volunteer or be nominated to serve on the network group of
their choice based on the topic of greatest interest by completing and submitting an application form and sending it in. Members
are chosen from the pool of applicants to create a microcosm
of the larger U-M staff community in terms of career families,
academic and administrative units, and other demographics.
For additional information on being selected and serving as a VOICES volunteer, please see More Details.
